Making a genuine effort to understand the mind as a whole,
in Mind.Forth and its JavaScript Mind.html tutorial program
Mentifex adopted a top-down approach to replicating in silico
that which bottom-up evolution took eons to deliver in vivo.
We now have rudimentary, barely thinking AI software as a
proof-of-concept demonstration of machine intelligence, but
we unfortunately have in Mentifex (the author of Mind.Forth)
a project manager who is, shall we say, not the brightest
crayon in the box and not the best candidate for taking the
AI Mind forwards at a rapid pace to an AI-Complete conclusion.
Sure, Mentifex reached out years ago and pulled
the AI sword out the AI stone, but now it is time
for the best and the brightest to advance the state
of the art in artificial intelligence.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to analyse the
current AI Minds and design them all over again as better specimens
of the AI gene pool, where a tsunami tide is about to sweep the world.
As you may have observed, Mentifex even on his few and far between
good days works glacially slowly, and on most days his brainwaves
don't quite reach the shore. Mentally, Mentifex is a few fries
short of a Happy Meal and two hub caps short of a Buick.
When he tries to improve the AI Mind, his elevator is often
stuck between floors, and he is one sandwich short of a picnic.
Therefore, let the "Help Wanted" word go forth to the smartest
of the smart and the cream of the crop that the AI train is about
to leave the AI station and you, yes you, may be among all aboard
to face the last Grand Challenge that humanity may ever attempt --
the creation of a successor species to the homo sapiens society.
Do not join the Mind project, but rather be like Archimedes
who said in Greek, "dos moi pou sto kai kino ten gen,"
"Give me a place to stand and I will move the earth."
If you code in JavaScript, your place is in the DOM.
If you code in Forth, your place is at the forefront
of artificial intelligence in Turing Test robotics.
Whatever language you code in, let there be no effort
to design all AI Minds alike and akin to identical
genomes. Evolution wants genetic diversity, not identity.
If your analysis and design of a better AI Mind will
one day prevail in the genetic sweepstakes, we can not
glimpse it now beyond the Singularity that it launches.
From where the sun now stands, AI is in your hands.
Museums for AI Mind Exhibits
Ask your local science museum if they have an
AI Mind exhibit.
If they do not, volunteer to install
MindForth as an AI exhibit.
